Finally our town has something fun to do weekly to bring our community together!!! We went last night and it was really fun. Here is what our city's plug is about it, then I'll tell you mine after.....
Beginning Friday, May 6 Every Friday thru September, 4pm to 8pm Live music and great local products. Main Avenue W. at Shoshone Come shop and play with us! If you'd like to be a vendor, please contact Shelley Bennett: 208.368.0000 or shelley@brixusa.com, or Sarah Taylor: 208.733.5313. Downtown Twin Falls. www.twindowntown.com
Ok, So my plug is that it was so fun to hear live music and have the kids dancing around. I loved the smell of Kettle Corn and Pulled Pork Sandwiches. Even the beer was kinda fun to see in some of the people's hands because it always reminds me of people enjoying themselves. I don't suggest that or I don't ever do that, but you know its true. Ok, so I thought it was fun sampling the salsas, breads, cheese and sweets and watching Chris after he sampled the jalapeno salsa. Hahaha! There was jewelry, hair clips, bread, herbs, goat cheese, produce, wine, jam, awesome lamps and all sorts of wonderful things for sell ALL from local vendors! I think all the stores were open late too. I LOVED the fact that there was a craft there for kids. Hands On pottery store had a spin art there for kids for $1!!! They all loved it! Yay! I love the cheep crafts so they want to come back. This week, I am not sure if it's every week, but it should be :), there was a classics car show on the other side of main. (by Crowley's Soda Shop and the water structure) There was the classic music DJ and we walked around and looked at all the restored classic cars. Chris and I decided we like the Camero style best with Mustang coming up second. What years of those models you are wondering, ummm, yeah, so am I. :) But they were there and looked cool.
One thing I wanted to see more of were the VENDORS! To be a vendor is FREE this first summer!!! If you have something fun that you make weather it be homemade goods or services or ANYTHING, think about it!!! I am totally figuring out if I can do this asap with my ruffled diaper covers and pants, simple skirts and have some dresses to order in plastic hanging. I could also include my homemade bread and my sister needs to come over with her cookies! Oh gosh, what about... Isabel painting faces for $0.25 to $1 each for the kids!!! Hummm. Wheels are turning!!
I need to say something about Farmers Market too... The Twin Falls Farmers Market is held every Saturday from 9am to 1 pm, May through October at the College of Southern Idaho Ag Endowment Farm on North College Road in Twin Falls, Idaho. North of CSI. But, again, I think there needed to be not only more vendors, but more FARMERS!!!
I am going to put my 2cents in here because it's my blog and I can do that, and say that I think there needs to be one or the other. Friday Night Market OR Farmers Market. Truely. Things fizzle when they are spread thin. They are trying to be the same thing. We need to keep community together and restore our down town area into something nice. I grew up in California where in San Luis Obispo they have an amazing Farmers Market. Its a standing party every week. You just can not help from going! Now the SLO county does farmers markets in surrounding towns on their specific days.
The longer I live in Twin Falls, I like it more and more. These kinds of events brings our communities together. The old fashion way! :)

I LOVE THIS! That is my idea of a fun family outing, you can keep your amusement parks with their horrific price tags. I especially love any place that has live music and outdoor vendors. That is one of the things I miss most about OR. Maybe I'll have to make sure my next visit includes a fri nite stayover. ;o)
YAY!!! Please do!
